Leadership
Sisters of Alpha Pi Phi are involved in countless extra-curricular activities on campus and in the community. Many girls are involved in their faculty student associations and take on leadership roles in organizing campus activities. Many APP sisters are Welcome Week representatives, executive members of clubs and faculties, and so much more!
Being involved in other student groups outside of Alpha Pi Phi is very important to our sisters as it allows them to build experience, network with new people, and make their post-secondary student experience that much more memorable while leaving their mark on the school community and beyond.
Philanthropy
Alpha Pi Phi recognizes the importance of giving back to the community and making a difference in the lives of others. We do this by donating and dedicating our time to various charities and events throughout the year.
Nationally, our official philanthropy is the Alzheimer's Society of Canada. By holding successful fundraising events, such as bake sales, thousands of dollars of proceeds are donated each semester to this organization. Each year, Alpha Pi Phi organizes the annual Walk for Memories event at McMaster University.
In addition to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada, Alpha Pi Phi sisters do various philanthropic work both on campus and in the community. Between bottle drives and participating in blood drives, you're sure to see these girls giving back!
Academics
Our sisters recognize that education is our number one priority. Alpha Pi Phi emphasizes the cultivation of academic excellence by helping our girls achieve their goals in school. With our weekly study hours in the library, our sisters are encouraged to spend a set number of hours on their studies.
Many of our younger sisters have the benefit of learning from older sisters who are in the same degree program by getting help with exam prep, and sharing textbooks and notes! To honour our graduates, we hold Senior Sendoff in the spring each year.
Sisterhood
One of Alpha Pi Phi's main pillars is sisterhood. Every sister in Alpha Pi Phi is cherished for her individuality and uniqueness. Each member has a love for their sisters, is fiercely loyal to them, and will have everlasting friendships that continue to flourish. Whether you’re in need of a study buddy to help encourage you while you complete that final paper or someone to talk to in the middle of the night, our sisterhood provides members with an incredible support system and the bond shared between sisters is irreplaceable.
